Yvette R. Johnson is Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Texas Christian University Burnett School of Medicine, Neonatologist, Cook Children’s Medical Center, and Medical Director, N.E.S.T. Developmental Follow-up Clinic. In that role, Dr. Johnson is an attending Neonatologist providing direct patient care at Cook Children is Hospital NICU, and affiliated institutions. In addition, Dr. Johnson evaluates the long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes of high-risk NICU survivors in our N.E.S.T. developmental follow-up Clinic. Prior to joining Cook Children’s, Dr. Johnson was Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and attending Neonatologist at Texas Children’s Hospital. Over the course of her career, Dr. Johnson has participated in and conducted several research studies focused on the long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes of extremely low birth weight infants, as well as high-risk term infant. She has also participated in follow-up studies on infants with Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), evaluating the long-term outcomes following therapeutic whole body hypothermia. Dr. Johnson is also actively involved in implementation of post NICU discharge interventions to minimize the long-term sequelae of patients at high-risk for long-term neurodevelopmental sequelae. She is a Member of the AAP and AAP Fetus and newborn committee, AAP SONPM Follow-up Task Force, Texas Pediatric Society. Awards included Best Doctors in America, Health Care Hero, Top Doctors and Best in Texas Magazine. She lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her children.
