Overview
Early onset sepsis epidemiology and recommended treatment have changed over time. There are substantial practice differences in evaluation and treatment across the U.S. The purpose of this talk is to inform appropriate practice in the evaluation and treatment of early onset sepsis. At the conclusion of this activity, learners will review antibiotic therapy in their unit to determine if any interventions are appropriate; and if so, initiate an evidenced-based intervention in their NICU.
