Overview
The monthly Obstetrics Grand Rounds Series will present topics on diagnosis and management of normal and complicated pregnancy, including routine and advanced obstetrical ultrasound. The series aims to review evidence-based standards of care and to provide contemporary, state-of-the art updates on topics where new information is available. At the conclusion of the activity, learners will implement at least one strategy, new technique(s), or intervention(s) to identify the specific ultrasound findings of disease which assist in clinical decision-making and antepartum management.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Review the required components of the AIUM Detailed First Trimester Ultrasound (DFTU) between 12 weeks 0 days and 13 weeks 6 days.
  2. Identify structural defects seen in the first trimester DFT
  3. Apply image optimization techniques and avoid potential pitfalls encountered in the DFTU.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Review the required components of the AIUM Detailed First Trimester Ultrasound (DFTU) between 12 weeks 0 days and 13 weeks 6 days.
  2. Identify structural defects seen in the first trimester DFTU.
