Overview
NEO: The Conference for Neonatology addresses cutting edge, yet practical aspects of newborn medicine. Educational sessions are conducted by many of the foremost experts, who address neonatal-perinatal topics for which they have become renowned. This educational activity provides valuable clinical information for participants to bring back to their NICUs to improve the care that they provide infants in their units. NEO was designed for participants to better understand and utilize the leading approaches to neonatal intensive care addressed in the sessions.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Identify and promote current quality improvement projects to improve the outcomes of our neonatal patients.
  2. Describe the concept of eat, sleep and console as therapy for the infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome.
  3. Identify the at risk neonates who need neuroimaging.
  4. Discuss the current neonatal seizure management.
  5. List which neonatal medications have FDA alerts or underwent label changes.
  6. Discuss the roles of inhaled nitric oxide, non-invasive ventilation, and high-frequency ventilation in neonatal respiratory diseases.
  7. Identify the evidence-based thresholds for blood and platelet transfusion.
  8. List the risks and benefits of donor breastmilk.
  9. Identify different approaches regarding early onset sepsis.
  10. List the various genetic testing available and the associated ethical dilemmas.
  11. Discuss pharmacogenomics in the treatment of neonates.
